I wonder what changed?  Was it Australian regulations (which seems more likely) or the trikes themselves (which seems unlikely to me).
HD have been trying to get them ok'd for sale here for ages.

One of my riding mates here in Perth has a "Lehmann" trike conversion , done here in WA on a 2104 Ultra

Looks "factory" and he's delighted with it. Keeps him riding ( he's 86 FFsake !)

( When I was at Daytona Bikeweek in 2011 trikes/conversions were HUGE , and the factory trike I think had just been released.)

Lehmann trikes were up to then the "factory approved" conversions keeping warranty if HD dealer built.

Another riding mate , currently on a 2002 V-Rod , one of the originals in WA , has been looking at buying an Ultra for over 2 years and having it converted.

Frasers told him 2 weeks ago of the imminent arrival of the "genuine" factory trike,he did his sums, and reckons he'll be $12K better off buying the HD factory article !!

That is over buying a clean used Ultra and paying the Lehmann conversion costs in WA. I did not do the sums so no "flaming" please.

There is also the Freewheeler trike, that's going to be a LOT cheaper than the Tri-Glide.

Geoff i did look at that but considered that as the member was stepping from an ultra it was best to compare apples.....

Do you have a medical problem?
There is a guy 91 years old rides a converted trike told me he thought at his age he thought it wise as balance.
Personaly i don't like them, road a friends once i like motor bikes.
But can undedstand some need them
You can have a balance test. I had one a  year ago at Macquarie Uni said no balan e problem i liked it but cost $400

I'm not at the point (yet) of not being able to hold up a bike but I've got medical issues in my left leg which are getting worse year by year and at some point I'll have to make some difficult choices, I suspect within the next 5 years based upon progression.
I could get another sidecar (I had one when the kids were younger) or I could put a trike conversion on the Street Glide or I could buy a trike.

No hurry for me to make a decision but it at least we've got more choice now that HD are going to be selling factory trikes in Australia.

For those in Victoria looking for another alternative Trevaye Enterprises (who are doing my tow bar construction and wiring and who also make motorbike camper trailers) are an agent for Roadsmith Trike Kits.
