Took the new beast out last weekend , missus , some luggage and some good old bumpy Qld back country roads North of Dalby ... Power when run in is going to be freaking amazing by the feels of things .
Suspension now thats another story ... first impressions , not happy Jan ... now the rear wheel has been changed from the stock 16" to the nice new shiny 18" Turbine ... it has of course a lower profile tyre presumably to make sure the speedo is kept within range ... speed check with a couple of mates seem to confirm the speedo is all good .
Anyhow for a $55,000.00 Tourer i expected a hell of a lot better ride even over some of our shitty roads up this way ... i was thinking surley the lower profile tyre carnt make it that much worse ... the poor Missus was practiclly in tears on the longer journey home ... i thought it carnt be the set up as not once , not twrice but 3 times i had disscussed with the guys at Dealership to make sure they adjusted the suspension the week before when i picked the new beast up .
So i am not even thinking it could be non adjustment ... the 3rd time the adjustment was mentioned with the dealership was in fact when they rang me to confirm how far i wanted it adjusted too ... so of course they sorted it , Right ... No .
When we got home and after seeing how upset the Missus was i thought i better investigate , and low and behold the Dicks hadn`t changed the setting from it`s lowest setting which was for a 65 Kg Feather Weight ... me 150 Kg`s and the Missus 80 and most likely at least 10 or 15 Kg`s of Luggage ... so as it turned out every bump we hit and there were shitloads of them we were riding on the bump stops .
While on the subject of the rear shockies ... whats the go with the left rear being of decent size but the right rear looks like it would be more at home on a small dirt bike .
Whats the moral of the story ... don`t trust Dealerships to do the right thing as soon as they get your money ... sound a bit harsh , Fucking oath ... have settled down somewhat during the week and am heading down on Saturday to see how they react ... have adjusted the shocky up and as we live out West of Brisbane now we have a nice little ride to see how much better these things are with a somewhat more approrite adjustment before we get to Dealer to hear their response .
Has left a little bit of a sour taste thats for sure ... still in Love with the new girl no worries there and as mentioned above the power feels like it will be great but considering my lowered Twin Cam felt more comfortable to ride i was let say a tad dissapointed ... 2 more sleeps till i see if get an decent apolagy and if not i will take my spending money across the river and give it to another Dealer .
Tim .
