Just had my cams installed, V&H Power Duals  fitted up to the Two Brothers Racing mufflers, SERT in and heavy breather fitted. Won't be tuned until tomorrow.
Keep you informed, but we all know what the outcome will be.

Just picked the RoadKing up from Bikeworks, and all I can say is I love this thing now.
The cams/headers/SERT/and intake mods have woken it up, and gave me back the thump and sound I was looking for.

101RWHP, and 113 Ft lbs was the end result, right in the rev range where I want it, overtaking speeds.

Whilst it was in there, I added a internal wire kit for the bars, smooth fuel filler and gauge, and a set of CVO hand grips.
    Roll on the road trip.

Agree with all you've said, Lofty. The power duals and pissing off of the cat make a huge difference to sound and breathing . Really nice useable power in an area where it's been found wanting on mine. The RK is looking schmick! All you need now is a sprung seat to cushion those ribs, mate. Keep your eyes peeled for pot holes on your run.

Well I pulled the trigger on Saturday , added this latest beast to the collection ... 2017 Road Glide Special ... To go with my 99 Springer , heavily Customized plus my 08 Softail that also has its fair share of extra goodies .
This gorgeous thing ... In my opinion of course ... Has as you can see the Chrome Turbine Wheels , Detachable sissy bar and carry rack ... The 1.5 inch Burleigh Bars , not totally sold on them yet with my background with low wide bars but they were part of the deal and cost a ridiculous amount of money so wasn't about to give them back , Lol .

It has the Stage 2 Stereo upgrade ... Again never had a bike with music and GPS so will be an interesting learning experience ... It has the Full House Stage 4 Screaming Eagle motor upgrade , supposedly making between 115 & 120 Hp and 110 to 115 ft pound torque ... Will see once she is run in , only has a couple of hundred K's on her .

Was only built a week or so ago ... Rob , one of the owners from Gasoline was not real kean to sell her as it was going to be his private toy for a few weeks ... I saw it last week when it got rolled out , fell in Love , Missus said yeah baby , haggling was done and deal was done .

Of course probably the most controversial / talking point are the pipes ... I reckon they are going to be a Love them or Loathe them subject but of course I Love them ... Freedom 2 into 1 Turnouts ... Unbelievably deep rumble ... Have a quite baffle on the way just in case officer plod takes offence ... Strangely up around 100 / 110 they don't sound loud at all , but down low with the exhaust bouncing off walls and so on they might attract some unwanted attention and I imagine when I get to crack open that throttle it will be a different story , Lol .

Have a wrap round front guard to complete the look ... Won't be here and fitted until Wednesday and due to work commitments not picking her up until Friday ... Going to be a Bloody long week.

Anyhow no doubt I will have a few questions to throw at the more experienced Toured riders out there so my apologies in advance for any stupid or novice questions to come ... Thanks for reading .

Lol ... Yeah Baloffski , I reckon I had to many Black Harleys ... Thanks for the compliment .
Lofty ... Actual figures quoted were 120 Hp / 120 Torque but I like to understate these type of figures until I see them for myself ... Mind you both dealers up here in Sth East Qld say the 515 Cam is more of a in between Cam , not all Hp and not all Torque but suits the whole package going from 107 to 114 and bigger throttle body and of course C N C ported heads .

I haven't even picked it up yet but have already thought same as you regarding bags , Lol ... It's what first attracted me to the Road King Special ... No doubt I will find something to spend my hard earned on .

One of my new Bagger novice question ... The bike lifter / Jack I use on my Softail , can I use that on a Tourer ... Any restrictions under the Bike .

The lifter I bought for my Fatboy was also used with my CVO Ultra, no problems at all with
    clearances.

Used my lifter on my old Softy, Roadking and now the Streety no problems. Unless the M8 has something different it should be ok.

Hey Steelo , the plan IS to do more longer rides and like you say now I have the longer legs it should be more comfortable ... Have done Brisbane to Melbourne , over to Tassie back to Melbourne over the Great Ocean road , back over the Great Ocean road , across to Sorrento , got a new tyre at a place starting with B , need to consult the travel journals to remember names of places , Lol ... Anyhow up to Omeo over the Majestic Snowys down to Canberra , split from the other guy's and up through Scone and home again ... 7500 K's in just under 3 weeks .
What do you reckon Pauly and Steelo , does that qualify as a half decent Bike ride ... Will it get me a invite for a Cold one next time I'm down your neck of the woods ... As long as it is Queensland Bundy of course , Lol .

Some truly amazing country we have I reckon ... Did that trip way to quick for my liking , just one of the many reasons to travel down the Tourer path and take it all in nice and easy .

Thanks for the feedback regarding bike lift by the way folks ... Will make cleaning those Turbine Wheels a tad bit easier ... Stay upright folks .

Well the new addition to the fleet is sitting proudly in the Garage ... 2017 Velocity Red Road Glide Special ... old Bike Lift used alreadt and as all you good people said , it worked fine ... had to get that pesky road dust off my new shiny wheels ... plus move the old foot shifter peg up an notch , could hardly get my foot under it to change gears .

Had a couple of terrifying moments on way home ... we live an hour away from Gasoline out west of Brisbane ... proberbly the worst winds i have ridden in for years , there was even talk of shutting down the Brisbane airport due to severe crosswinds ... not ever have ridden a bike with such a large fairing before , except a couple of small fairings on Jap bikes let me tell you it had me thinking i had made a mistake getting a bike with such more area of mass for the wind to push .

Came past a truck on the right side , truck on left concrete wall on right ... wind caught me and i missed the wall by the most a foot ... PHARK ... another time , me in left lane car in right lane , came out of a cutting and again just missed this little old lady ... talk about heart in the mouth time .

Reckon it didn`t help with the 14" High Ball Burliegh Bars that are on it , the combination of me not being used to riding with Ape Bars having always had Low and wide bars and of course with my armrs sticking up in the air the wind was not only pushing against a greater area of mass with the Fairing and sadle bags but also the great lump of lard sitting behind the bars , would have been like a huge paracute ... don`t see the Bars lasting the duration of me owning the bike ... reckon i will drop back to the 9" Chiseled Harley Bars they have on offer ... but will give them a chance first before making any rash discissions ... have a 7 to 8 hundred K`s ride locked in for next weekend so that should hopefully give me a greater idea of how i like the ride postion .

For the people who have continued to read through my ramblings i had a technical question for the good folk out there ... when i got the bike one of the things that attracted me was the Chrome Turbine Wheels , front and back ... now as you are all aware the standard rear wheel is a 16" ... the rear Turbine they put on is a 18" ... the profile of the tyre is lower than the standard rear tyre but would anyone know how much of a difference in trye profile there would have to be so the speed would regiseter the same as stock ... the last thing i want is to be cruising along at what i think is a 100 K`s and am really doing 110 or whatever the difference might be ... had changed the pully size on one of my other rides and had installed a speed sensor adjuster but was never a real fan of it , never got it to be totally precise .

So the new adventure begins ... have already bookmarked a dozen or so pages in the latest catolouge for things i want to add or change ... one of these days i am going to find the bottom of my wallet and i am going to be broke ... But Happy ... Hopefully , Lol .

    Tim .

Hi TJU. Congrats on taking possession of the beast. Sorry you had a bit of drama on the way home. They do take some getting used to and as I was told, you have to think about every aspect of riding and parking.
Doesn't the speedo work off the gearbox or some such thing? BUT if you are worried I've got my original wheels I'd gladly swap for your wheels. Cheers

TJU, very impressive bike you have by the sound of it, and is "velocity Red" .excellent choice from my looking. I picked up a Road Glide Custom from next door to my work place in Melbourne 2012, August, slightly customized by HH with mini 10 inch apes, which were not the problem. T'was riding home just coming onto the Nepean Highway at a place called St. Kilda, I was near killed too, from a gust of wind that actually pushed me over two lanes, near into a vehicle.
Unfucking believable, I know R.G.'s are a great bike , but fairings "definitely" are a wind sock in side way type catch arena..Long as your on the ball, are one of the best rides, now with mr. M8 in the engine . Take care and enjoy your shiny new bike. cheese Baloff.

Lol ... Steelo , thanks for the offer of swapping wheels , but I have original wheels as well ... Pretty sure you are right about Speedo running off gear box sensor but when ever you change wheels or pulley sizes it throws the actual real speed out ... So I have been told at least ... Standard rear tyre is a 180/65 profile and new rear tyre is a 180/55 profile ... So hopefully although it has gone up 2 inches in rim size it has come back a bit with the lower profile ... Just not sure if it close enough to precise speed ... Will do some drive by test with missus car and mates bikes .
Balofski ... Glad I am not the only one to experience such an freaky episode while riding bike with big fairing ... Your experience sounds worse than mine , glad you're still here to relay your story to me ... And I reckon in General it's those ferocious Cross winds that caught me out ... I should have been more aware as every August up here around our Ekka time we always have massive Westerly winds .

I definitely have to give the bars a chance but as Pauly alluded to I am only 5' 10" with not the longest arms out there so possibly going back to the 9 inch mini apes then the 5 inches lower will make a huge difference ... Just don't feel like I have control of the beast at this early stage with the high bars ... I have of course the original bars so always have that option as well .

Thanks guys for letting me ramble ... Tim .

Got out on the new M8 today ... Winds have died down considerably , still blowy but nothing like last 2 days ... So so much more enjoying to ride today , only short 300 Klm ride but Phark I am going to get myself in trouble once I have adjusted my brain waves to riding this Tourer and especially when the Stage 4 motor is run in and ready to Rip , Lol ... The power there just waiting to be unleashed is Freacking amazing ... 5th and 6th gear roll ons when overtaking even now is incredible .
So there is a Digital Speedo on these things , you bloody beauty ... Does this mean I have to actually read the manual , Oh well something's are worth doing .

If pic comes through it should be bike with out sissy bar and carry rack ... Roll on next week end and will be praying for none or next to no winds , Lol .

Did you lock the door before going to bed, you don't need an ice pack you could probebly just slide a few cubes in there now.

Hey fellas, loving me new ultra. Rode it back from Sydney to Townsville and could have kept on riding. One question from you guys if I may.
Can you lock the ignition? If so how.  I can lock the steering but the fender light comes on. Any help appreciated.
