OK. Moved back to rural (try an say that pissed!) Victoria to my "shoe box House". Have a single garage with no workbench>Have built a few in my time but with free gal. steel and free hard wood. Anyone got any idea's for workshop bench plan, max length is 2200mm probably by 600 or 800mm, which is pissy to what I have built. Looked on web yanks don't make W/Shop benches. Just bought 10 sleepers yesterday and getting keen for kicking in, but for once I want a plan. Now does sounds like a wank but asking advice for once. Thanks crew.Oh, I built towers, masts, etc shit so us riggers can build anything with a plan.

I got these 4 steel shelfs of face book buy swop sell for $50.00 cut them in half
screwed them together used packing timber on top { free from tip } then some used pine stud free
Black enamel paint mixed with turps for stain and will two pack clear at the end
The two pack will be the biggest expense ........ maybe the VBs will be the biggest expense

Sorry, no plan but i just used some scrap steel i had from other projects. Legs are 125 x 75mm RHS and the frame and struts are 50 x 25mm i think. The top is some timber floor recycled out of a 80 year old shed.
Some buffaloes could have a threesome on it and it wouldn't wobble.

hmmm watching this topic with interest.
I'm moving back to my old house at Maldon in a couple of months and I've got no bench in the shed there.

OK Punkin, you take the cake, at the moment. I actually found some pine I'd left a few years ago and made quick use of for a Workshop bench BUT not what am proud of as normally I overkill. .Bought 10 x Pine sleepers from Dunnings at $10.70 each (2.4 x 50 x 200) and will soon make my workbench to be more solid. Ha. I do love a project. But current would support a number of projects, which include a work bench to hold up hell. Blood do you are man of my own heart, why pay when ya can build with cheap sourced stuff. Are we cheapskates , who cares, leaves money for VB. Geoff3DMN, man here ya, and well is not what am proud of building in my shoebox garage, but will do better later on. now your moving back to lovely Maldon, for which I knew pretty well  back a little. If anything let me know if you need a hand with stuff, as currently unemployed an will help  for 0, or maybe 1 or 2 beers. Looking forward to seeing your new bike, seriously back frame to swing is way to go, I spent a small fortune on my Fat to handle, but ahh is what it is. But drawing up a design for sleeper bench, which Geoff will like..
