2014 Street Bob vs 2011 Softail Standard?

Hi All. I imagine you get this question a lot but would be eager to get any advice. I have to make a tough decision.
The choice: 2011 Softail Standard with 3,300kms on the clock - 1584, stock standard apart from a front mag wheel, VERSUS, 2014 Dyna Street Bob with 1,700kms on the clock, 1690, mags front & back, SS pipes still under warranty. Both around the same price.

Love the softail on the road - very smooth and well-balanced, but lacks the power of the 1690 which is louder and a bit rougher to ride. I'm pretty sure I'd get used to riding either bike. Finding it hard to reconcile $500 difference for such different bikes.

All comments welcome, especially from those who have ridden both dyna and softail. Thanks guys!

The Dyna will have a bit more cornering clearance if that's important to you.
My sister has a Street Bob and I reckon they're the bargain of the big HD range.

    Hi Geoff3DMN.
Thanks for the advice. I've got a lady friend who also went for the Street Bob. Must be popular amongst the girls. She couldn't give a reason why she chose it other than she'd always wanted one. So ... by "bargain" do you mean a cheaper/less quality option, or just that it's more affordable? The softails do seem to be a little more expensive.

I mean that you get a LOT of Harley for the money they sell for.

I had a 07 streetbob with some engine mods ( I bought it like that from an Indie shop ) they didn`t Know or tell me about , not sure to what extent  204 cams & minor head work I think, tuner  pipes & so on ....it went like stink ! it was my first Harley .I loved that bike I could not wait to wake up the next day & ride to work .. So for my 2c worth  go with the streetbob a 103 cu with a little work would be awesome

    Hi gidgi
Your 2c worth is noted. I know that feeling well. Even on my current Yammy, I look forward to getting out the n the road. It's gonna be even better on the Harley.

Thanks Smoky1. It's becoming clear that it's impossible to make a wrong decision when you're ultimately going to end up straddling a Harley!
