    Hey all,

I think I have 2 handlebar clamp bolts which are fkd.  Could be the threads in the risers??
Short story, handlebars were loose in clamp (bolts werent tight), nipped up bolt, then snap.  Seemed ok tightened on 3 bolts, went for a ride, bars moves slightly.  All bolts looser again, went to nip up again, another bolt snap.  Painful.
Handlebars were recently changed over mid last year (at a shop), but they were powder coated before installed, so I think the extra thickness has had an effect on how they fit in the clamp and how they tighten.  Couldn't see any loctite on one of the bolts.

Handlebars rotate in clamp, and I don't think I can tighten sufficiently on two bolts to make the bike rideable.  Its the top left thats the problem and either top right or bottom right which is also the problem.  The bolt on the right thats the problem is in tact I can pull it out, threads look a bit damaged, so the problem may be the female thread...

    Any ideas?

I'll call my usual HD service shop tomorrow but not sure if they can pick up/fix on site. (def not riding like that, and not towing it)
Any mobile HD service/repairers around Melbourne who can fix on site?

    2008 XL883, HD drag bars.

    Thanks!

    Chris

Hey mate, risers are pretty cheap. I'd just replace it. Cheaper again if you don't want to replace it with the original

That is spot on.... and has been the topic in many machine shops across the world
