Ok, this is my first harley, i want to get the engine to look really mint!!

First the heads - How do i get them mirror finish? ive seen so many that are so highly polished, looks amazing when they are mirror finish...

Second the Cooling fins on the barrels. they look bleak n plain jayne -  a bloke at work said rub them down with wet and dry to get nice finishes on the edges?? yes or no - does anyone have ANY usefull information that can help me

also using a gurney on the block to get into the tight spaces, will this interfere with electrics at all or is it all good, this is my daily ride so im washing polishing weekly

If it's metal and meant to shine I use Purple Polish. Maybe someone else has a more specialised product for what you want.

I'm not a big fan of regular use of pressure washers on bikes, keep use to a minimum and keep away from electrical components.

For plastic parts (screens, blinkers etc) I like Plexus.

A good quality chamois, clean cloths, some bug remover for stuck on bugs.

And a gentle soap cleaner (you can get bike cleaner from most shops).

My current Harley is 9 years old, a custom softail, and being an everday rider, ide polish chrome once a year. I find armour all heavy duty wash, (The green stuff) brings the chrome up bright as without polishing and thats a bike thats done over 100,000 kays, I agree with poster above, if you like chrome, change a few covers over to chrome. If you ride your bike regularly, youll get over polishing alloy real quick considering brake dust, road particles like sand ect will diminish polish pretty quick.

I wouldnt use a gerny on my bike ever, Reason is your electrical connectors will end up getting stuff pushing into them that wil potentially cause electrolosis and bad connections. Some road grime is slightly corrosive over time.  In electronics, Not every sensor is off at o volts. Sometimes some censors are are off at certain voltages and resistance and will play up if connections have extra resistance due to crap in terminals.

Keep in mind that when you turn your bike off, it cools and a vacume effect occurs, stuff gets sucked into terminal a bit more.
