2012 FLHXSE3 keeps blowing fuse. (Instruments fuse) Active code is for "clutch interlock switch short to ground" (BU1154 from memory). Clutch switch appears fine and is functioning properly. Cant get bike to fault whilst stationary, but will usually blow fuse in first couple of minutes. Bike is essentially unmolested so wiring is the way it left the factory. I have it apart looking for obvious chaff marks etc but to no avail. The only thing I have found out of the ordinary was water in the harness going to HFSSM. Anyone had this prob before? Could it be the HFSSM itself? Im unsure how the clutch switch shorts to ground when it is an earth return switch anyway. Any info muchly appreciated

 

 

After stripping half the bike and reading the schematics, we found a pinched fuel sender unit wire near the plug. Fingers crossed!

One of my least favourite things in the world...chasing a short.

+1 on that one hound dog. Just when you think you found and fixed it, put everything back together and go for a spin and it shows up a week later. not fun hey.
