I have got a 98 fatboy and recently the numbers on the odometer have been playing up a bit. 

It says 66666 instead of 88888 when I turn the ignition on and while I am riding around parts of the numbers on the odometer are playing up.

I looked at connections and traced the problem to the white box that sticks out of the back of the speedo that the cable plugs into.

It turns out that if I give the white box a bit of a wiggle, the rest of the numbers come back. If I press the white box into the speedo  the numbers are fixed. 

I tried clamping it up and siliconing it together but it didn't last long. I'm pondering the idea of superglue but before I try something I can't undo I figured it was time to find out if anyone else has fixed a similar problem. The last option is a new speedo. But I'm hoping it doesn't come to that.
