Hey, just got myself a 2012 wide glide and have a few Pennies left over. it already has breather, pipes and tuner so was wondering where my money would be best spent. Im thinking either fat spokes or new rims and possible new bars but just want to know whaty other people think. throw up some pics if you have them. cheers

Bars and rear suspension would be my pick.

Hillys on the money or a tough 107.

Breather, pipes and tuner don't cut it, put the whole lot into the motor, get your bits and pieces of bling over time.

From what I understand Chriso's 107 is quite different than the tyre shredder kit. Headwork, different cams, different tuner, different compression. Not an apples and apples comparison.

When I said different tuner I meant chriso had somebody highly reputable and a long distance away dyno tune his 107 which can help get everything out of the right combination of parts

My 107" got 131hp 116tq from conservative Dyno. Had it redynoed to prove it elsewhere and got 134hp 119tq

I second H & H. Put a few bucks in the engine to make it quicker sure, but if you upgrade the suspension and handling then you'll essentially have a quicker bike. Once you can get it leaning then if you want to go fast, just button on.

So what is the 110 cu tyre shredder going to cost me installed

Mate the first thing I did was drop the forks through the triple trees so they are flush with the top of the triple tree. Then I grabbed some heavy duty progressive fork springs and some progressive 444 rear shocks in a slighlty taller height then standard. This has raised the entire bike by at least 20mm so I can now go around corners at speed. In the standard configuration the WG is a shocker for ground clearance I reckon. All this cost about $1000 by memory.

After this I wacked a set of 14 inch Apes on. It is super comfy to ride at this height but I have taken a massive step backwards with the handling unfortunately. Another $2000.

I reckon looking at the brakes would be good but I have got use to the poor braking on HD now so might put that off.

Otherwise cosmetically a set of fat spokes would be great I reckon giving you a bigger rear wheel and wider tyres front and back - that will be my next mod if the tax man is nice to me this year.

A word of advice, don't fucken even bother getting suspension upgrade until you got enough to buy ohlins... ya wasting ya time.

I think you made up ya mind and are on the right track

ive come from a m109r boulevard so ground clearance is exceptional. i spoke to a few mechanics who directed me away from the 110 tyre shredder to a more street performance kit with maybe some lumpier cams. they all said the shredder kit was unreliable over 20 or 30 k. other than that suspension for me is a tricky one as im a fat bastard and well as for ohlins. ill sell a kidney

    Stage 4, 106, 107. So many options

Even just cam it , decent tune and fit some Sputhe or tru- trac stabalizers.

Ive raced track, ive ridden everything from cbr250s to rgvs and 1099's had a boulevard and now the wide glide, i aint the best rider in the world but im gonna take 6 months to learn what is good and not so good about thins bike. first thing i noticed was the front suspension so its coming out and getting gold valves and a few other better bouncy things to help with that, the rest is cosmetic just to make me moist

You don't have to be mick doohan to do engine work to your bike. You can be a very avarage rider, it don't matter a fuck.

It's about making the bike nicer to ride and a hell of a lot more fun. Nothing to do with riding it to its full potential.

Pics are coming. Its fun playing bike builder particually when things dont quite fit. Inch bearings not 25mm bearings arrrg that shitted me right off

Yes it's not just about the cubes, I would have my 106 over the moco's 110 kit any day although it cost quite a lot more lol
