Looks a great looking bike,,,, but they have got rid of the auxiliary lights ,, which in my opinion was the icon sig of the Road King .....

I like it. Agree with Mark on the aux lights. Could have looked nice with some smoked out ones.

Blacked out looks nice - but i like my chrome.

I really dig that -- particularly with the blacked out look. Be great to see one in person ... hopefully the dealer gets a demo.

Not really into those colours, but I like the looks.. Charcoal Denim would be my pic of the four colours

The Road King RRP is $33,995 and the Road King Special is RRP $34,995. In the US the Special is $US21,999

I can't see it properly in a dim dark factory background and a blacked out bike can't see the motor close up. i want crome n bling for a parrade bike like that!! gloss paint n chrome they probably will offer chrome and lights as opptions or put that on the CVO, would have to ride one to see i think. how much Torque & HP at the rear wheel? what distance on a tank full before you need to stop? & refill?

Kieth they have to bring them a long way by boat then pre delivery labour charge in AU = $150 per hour . I'm just guessing but it's got to be something like that then state by state would cost different to put on road & insure.

Luv how they minimise things & the price goes up, don`t mind the charcoal denim although think if the olive was Distressed /Rat look with  bits of red primer rubbed thru & bits of paint narly rusty look would be cool ,reckon they missed the chrome nuts on the narcell, they should be black unsure bout the missing light bar or the shape of handle bars as well as indicators mounted up there wait and see.  HD boss saying heaps new models over next 5 yrs that will be interesting

I don't see the $4-5000 difference but I'm not in the trade or anything so maybe they earn every cent. Doubt it though. Fark I'm whinging lately. Time for a bex.

Re: new models over the next five years (up to 50 according to MBW and Bikesales), I wonder at what point we start seeing new frames to go with the M8's, i.e a new Dyna frame ect or will the move be more tech like traction control (mainly for safety) or extending cruise control further amongst the range. They could look at engine map adjustability on the fly (touring/full power/wet mode) but that's not a new model as such. Rather just refinements.

    50 is a lot....

Thanks PB but I'm sure if HD reckons it would draw more ppl into riding a new M8 ect, they would do it. Plus bikes have had brakes 'forever' and new advances in tech including ABS made them even better (and safer for the majority of riders). This stuff can be incorporated and you wouldn't even know it's there.

I'm not saying it's a must-do for HD, but if there's merit and sales...

It's a nice bike, but at 35k it's not exactly great value.

Me thinks Im old fashioned, I much prefer the chrome to the blacked out look, especially on such an iconic model as the Road King,,,,,,

Value is an interesting concept here. This bike at circa $35000 is around the same price as a Street Glide Special, circa $8000 more than a Lowrider S, and for fun it's around $15000 more than a Triumph Speed Triple. I reckon it's a great looking bike but .... $35000 is a lot.

You're dead for a long time ... don't die wondering. If you can afford to buy it, go for it! For the record I recon it looks pretty bloody awesome, enjoy!
