Hey boys and girls, looking for some information on longer drive belts for an extended swingarm on a 2004 Sportster. The standard belt is 136 teeth and for a two inch extension I calculate I need a 143 tooth belt. So far the longest I have found is a 140 tooth (40024-09) off an 09 touring model; besides, of course the 149 tooth off an early VRod (40105-04).

Can anyone direct me to a 143 tooth (or close to it) belt?

Are there any 14mm pitch industrial belts that can be adapted to suit? (It would not matter if an industrial belt is wider as it could be cut down in width to the correct size).

You might be able to solve your problem, by finding a larger ( more teeth gear box sproket and a smaller less teeth rear wheel sproket keeping gearing the same.
