Yesterday i bite the bullet and bought a set of S&S MR103 Cams / easy fit pushrods / lifters / high comp pistons / new oil pump with billet plate and clutch diaphram ..

 

i hope to get a dyno done in the next few months.. just wondering if anyone else has a similar setup with some results and dyno sheets to show me that would be amazing

Hey ya matey. First of all I think you made a good choice to keep your ride, as not only is good lines, engine, but sensible (hate that word) for you at present. bloody hell I'd have one in a flash. Think China has 103's so may pay to query, I only had 204 wacked in through suggestion from Mr.Lush, they are me to a key. Good luck sunshine, with whatever choice made. Phh yeah, my clutch is starting to slipper do to. So good upgrade on your part.

 

Limpn what pistons (comp) did you buy? I thought the mr103 cams were intended for stock compression in the 103 engines.

10.5:1 forged pistons..

Mate I'd double check about the compatibility of those cams with 10.5 comp. I think you'll find it'll ping which won't be possible to tune out.

Either run those cams with your stock pistons, or else run the new pistons but swap the cams. If swapping for another cam in the s&s range, the 585 likes 10.5 comp. Another option for a bit of a compromise is 10.2 pistons and s&s 570 cam. All are fine with the factory valve springs. Lots of other cams to consider outside of the s&s range too obviously.

ok cool thanks for the info.. im just going off what my mechainc has put in his quote.. he isnt a fan of SE gear had to many issues with them to advised me to go with S&S get what ya pay for... i will give him a call in a sec and make sure .. Thanks mate appriecate your help
