G'day all.

I'm on the lookout for a mens, Large size, medium to heavy weight leather jacket, preferably HD with subtle branding (ie not too loud or over the top advertising), near new or well used, it doesn't really bother me but I don't want any damage or gravel rash.

I'm hoping someone might have a decent used jacket they've grown out of in the last few years that they'd like to swap for cash to fill up the beer fridge.

I have a size 44 Mars Leathers Brando Jacket in good nick, but used. It has spent around 20 mostly hanging in acupboard waiting for me to lose weight.
It has no branding, HD, or otherwise, apart from a small mars logo low on the side.

The pockets are a little grimey on the inside. (I used to carry a few tools in them).

Good call Bonkerz, I used to wear either a L or an XL size T Shirt, I can't remember which and it fitted well. I now weat a xxl T Shirt and I can just get in it.

 

Though you prolly already know, just a heads up, the sizing on leather jackets is often way off so ask the person you buy from if it's a normal size. In other words, if it says L do they normally wear L.
I have two jackets in my cupboard, one's an XL and the other's a 3XL and they both fit perfectly.

Ranga, I gave a couple of brando style jackets away a few years back, prefer a more modern style.
Bonkerz, cheers for that. Have tried several HD brand jackets at the local dealer, L fits good but I'm not paying $500+.
Was hoping there was an unused one hanging in a shed somewhere.

I bought a ripper leather jacket from the  "Vic markets" they have in Melbourne.

Way cheaper than identical ones you can get elsewhere.

Not a Harley branded one, but that is probably a bonus as it has not blown a seal and has never leaked oil. It is an "Extreme" brand one, made in Pakistan. Got a removeable thermal liner that zips right in for colder weather. Heavy duty too, really fucken heavy .Can't remember if it was buffalo, cow or rhinocerous leather,have not put it on my wool bale scales but it is heavy. Comfortable too!.

Top marks also for the suspiciuos looking bloke who was selling them. I was not sure which size one I needed. You know, sometimes you need a jacket with a jumper underneath etc.

This cunt just said "you need this size".

And he was right.

Seem to remember it was about $180 . At the time similar jackets were selling for double that in a capital city south of you.

Far Canal, I met a bloke on the weekend with one of those Vic Market jackets, L size fitted like a glove, and like you said heavy duty and looked like good quality. Might have to slip over to the markets.
