Out of school I wanted to get into sign writing, but was told there was only one guy in Geelong that didnt just use stickers, and he didnt take apprentices.... dying art. So I started a spray painting apprenticeship... got into custom painting/ airbrush/ hot rods and helmets, 4 years later that was finished and I was travelling a bit with some bands I was playing in, so left spray painting went through being a tour manger, stage manger, booking agent, live sound engineer on tour (all flexible hour jobs), clothing retail (vomit), shower base warehouse, some roofing labour and so on... all the while doing sound engineering in the recording studio part time and weekends over about ten years - yes it takes that long to get your name out there!

4 years ago I was finally able to focus on working in the recording studio alone as a Producer and recording/ mix Engineer.

As with most business owers, the first few years are tight, then you kinda sink or swim.... my swimming (probably more dog paddle) finally began 6 months ago and the Harley deposit was a direct and proud link to that time in my life. In the same week 2 albums I produced were nominated for independant music awards.

I'm an electrical engineer. Started out of school with a the local electricity supply company, been there through multiple name changes and mergers for 25 years. I like what I do, and get to work with heaps of good people. The way I see it, people will always need to keep the lights on and the beer cold, so there should always be a job there.
