Draining battery ?

Ok so last week my alarm went off randomly at night. Turns out it was from my battery running dead. I had the battery tested etc and it was stuffed. Only 6 month old genuine battery.

I purchased a deca battery and trickle charger. Put the battery on charge a few days and put her in. I went for a quick ride today and switched it off. I didn't bother putting on the charger either.

Few hours later my alarm went off  randomly again. The bike turned over first go.

Wtf is going on. I put the charger on as I might take it down to the shop to see if it's drawing more power than it should. Anybody have this issue before? I haven't touched the bike or added anything to it since I bought it 4 month ago

Ok now it's making a strange winding/clicking noise. I did some searching online and it could be a starter relay? I don't have any multi metres to check how much is drawing from the battery.

And those could be the symptoms of another dead battery. I'd buy that multimeter. You can pick them up under $20 (cheap ones that work for minor jobs) at a lot of places and it's something you will use again.

So after researching I am confident it's the system relay and the noise is the IAC due to the current running to it. YouTube vid confirms the same noise https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=wJ6Ju258uOc I'll be replacing these relays and the fuses as I noticed they looked corroded. Thanks to the poorly designed battery cover that allows moisture and water through

I seem to remember some Sportys have a problem with funneling water through the fuse box when washing - the water just liked flowing/dripping that way. Dielectric grease and being careful when you wash it is the way to go I guess.

I'll add my 2 cents and advice you guys to try rinse free washing. Results are worth the effort, just half a bucket of water used, can wash it inside or outside, no water splashes anywhere, no water going in any funny places.
