The new bars...are fat bob bars used from yanky land of eBay as well AU $149.60 PostageAU $71.61 took about 1 month to get here, the chrome on the air filter looks so awesome
Starting with the air filter first, this Saterday, hopeing for a good run then the bars, the bar rises are 5in and the indcators may hit the tank, if so of they go fuck it Looking forward to showing the new look Sunday .... well hopeing so I also have a 30 pack of VB so lets see O yer and I know i need a tune after the new air filter gos on. If you have any tips love to hear from you and yep I have the work shop manual and a tourqe wrench Thanks bloodog
Suggest fucking the blinkers off from that dodgy underhanging bar position. I bought some clamps and moved them onto the fork tubes. There is a spare plug for them in the wiring to go there under the tank. First thing i did as they look fucking terrible.
Then i swapped the standard bars out for short apes and it improved the handling no end.
Got my indicators set up the same way on the deuce. Try mounting them below the bottom triple tree. That way should you ever decide to get a clip on windscreen, you'll have the space on the fork for the clamps. Still plenty of suspension travel. Plus, I think they look better a little lower.
Yes, Danny Grey seat was on it when i bought it. Check the fork leg diameter, there is a couple different ones.
Well it took some time and patience but well worth the effort
Would that air cleaner be tougher on the knee than a standard filter cover BD? Otherwise looks great.
Hey there BD...When you cut the wires to take the blinkers of I assume you cut them up near the bars...How many wires were in each of them, 2 or 3??? Those bars sure make a difference...I'm on the fence with the air cleaner,it looks like it sits out a long way...
Cheers...
I'm not keen on the look of the air cleaner, as it sits away from the bike too much. Kuryakyn do other better ones than that model.
Scotty at Uralla (or formerly of Uralla) frenched in my plate for me, but i moved the blinkers to tiny leds under the seat and then put LED strips down the swingarm for tail/stop and wired up a dimmer circuit from a clip on youtube.
Bloddog the bike is looking good. Tire wise after lots of research it appears the 250 is the way to go. It is actually wider than the 260 when put on a rocker rim. Something to do with the 260 being pushed out of shape on the rim.
dunlop 250 it is then
No mate i figure the tyre is big enough and expensive enough as it is. Not like you can ride on the side of it anyway though. I have my tyres changed at the motorcycle shop where i buy them. Harvey Morris has been looking after the mechanicals on my bikes for more than 25 years since i moved up here and i trust him to do a good job. That's worth more than a couple bucks in my pocket and he's about 20-30% cheaper than the Harley Dealership here.
