Hey guys - strange one.
After fitting my aftermarket new leather seat a few weeks ago- I find it really slippery riding in jeans.
I want to keep the leather supple, conditioned and protected, but I have tried a couple of different leather cleaners and they all make the seat very slippery.
Any suggestions??
I know people who rough up their seats or use liquids (dish washing liquid?) to remove the wax/sheen, but that all, of course, doesn't do the seat any good. Only other good suggestions I know (off the top of my head) are to grip the tank with your knees, or sew anti-slip material (just a couple of strips) on the back of your jeans where arse meets seat. I've never found it too slippery myself (YMMV) and I find being able to move around on the seat adds to the stability when cornering. Crushing your nuts when slamming on the brakes might be an issue though
Maybe try to wipe down the seat firmly with a clean rag/cloth after you've treated it, to hopefully get the best of both worlds, or as close as you can.
No worries where do you buy your arseless chaps from....i'll go to the same store !!
Thanks for the responses guys...... hopefully it is just a case of the seat getting softer as i use it and as the conditioners etc work. I like to move my weight around abit, but as you say if i have to slam on the brakes i think i would end up on the tank !
cheers J
No amount of conditioner cream is going to solve that !!!!
