Victory Motorcycles Shutting Down Immediately

That's a shame. I happened to read a few reviews on the Victory Octane lately and they were all very positive.  Seems like they made good bikes.  I guess it's too much having two brands with very similar products.  The Octane and the Scout look pretty much the same, although reviews mention that the Octane was a better bike.

Hopefully the nicer styling of the Indian Scout will merge with the better performance of the Victory Octane after the next update.

There were some ok Victory cruisers but that Victory Vision tourer thing... that was just wrong :)

Gee that is a bit of a shock but lets see if their second hand prices hold or plummet on the news.

They've just opened up a huge Victory/Indian showroom here in Perth. Guess it will just be Indian now. I would be bummed if I just brought a Victory! Wonder if the Indians will come down in price to make them more competitive with the plethora of other cruisers on the market. They are pricy with fairly low sails volume here. There not an every day ride I think, more like a "If it's not to hot, cold or raining this weekend I might take the Indian down to the cafe strip" type of bike brought by successful accountants and lawyers. Well that's the sort of dudes I see riding them here anyway! Might be wrong.

Indian will be next and Polaris will go back to ATVs and Snowmobiles.
I give the Perth dealership a year before it's gone.

Polaris motorcycle sales were up 18% in 2016 over 2015 and that's after 5 straight years of increasing sales.

I reckon they're shutting down Indian not because they're losing money but because they can make more money out of the Indian bikes (which sell for more money than the Victory ones) and because one range of bike means they need to carry less spares (which would save them money) and because the Indian name has more 'brand recognition' (like Triumph, it doesn't matter to most people that the bikes are just wearing a name).

Leather jackets with VICTORY on them look pox.

Leather jackets with Harley Davidson or Indian on them look cool. It's the shitty looking leather jackets that bought them to an end. IMHO.

Expect for Toyota/Lexus. Oh and Mazda/Infinity

Mazda do not manufacture the Infinity range, its Nissan who produce the range. Mazda had Eunos but dropped it in late 90s

I always thought the Victory , was more in the V Rod style with that ugly 4 valve OHC motor!!

INDIAN motor 2 valves per Cyl & Push Rod. but nothing like a real indian.

I bought a Victory 8 Ball in 2015. Thought it was not a bad bike at the time.

After walking past it to ride the HD on most weekends I sold it in 2016. Not a patch on a HD. Brand new bike and as soon as I got it I was hiding crappy wiring. Parts prices are over the top, if you can even get anything.

As for Indian - my grandfather & uncle rode a real Indian.

Damn shame i say, one less choice,

From what i've seen and heard they were a fine bike, the space ship models leave a lot to be desired, but in years to come they will probably be the most valuable, remember the HD fxrt's from the '80's, polarized opinions, ugly etc,  but today you will pay twice as much for an original "t" than you will for any other bike from that year, same goes for the '77 xlcr, ugly as fuck one day, highly sought after the next,

Victory had a few good ideas, they designed some maintainability into the motor, HD could learn a thing or two here,

And they made a pretty good cop bike,

    They had grown on me,
