Primary Leak

Had a dude call me about his 2000 Nightrain having a bad oil leak coming out from the drive sprocket area. Said had only happened when a local shop fitted a back tire and they had told him its common issue when fitting new back tyre and tensioning the belt back up ( had a little laugh).
Anyway got the bike back to my shed and sure enough its just pouring out the inner seal from the primary. when I had stripped it down had noticed the inner bearing race had walked of the shaft and losing its contact with the lip seal.
The inner race is very loose on the gearbox input shaft and I remember a while ago I had an inner race that was to tight for a late model Twincam gearbox shaft. So do the earlier model Twincams have a slightly smaller input shaft ID than the later model Twincams and could this have had a late model bearing race fitted causing it to be loose and walk away from the seal?
Couple of pics and vids to come

Im doing a transmission build on an 07 SG atm for a guy. Main bearing failure. The bearing race (P/N H-D 36091-06) is as tight as a Nun's nasty on this one...as they should be. I seem to remember hearing there was a very slight difference in sizes with someone trying to go the other way round and was cracking the races...cant be sure though.

Don't know about diffrant size bearing race deal but last time I was in in my evo primary I upgraded the the inner bearing to
A allballs bearing which is a lot wider and runs no race which is much better in my opinion and will swap my other bikes one out next time to
, better for spreading the Load on the mainshaft by memory it was the same bearing kit for all bt except 06 up dyna

Hey Perthhog.....Do you have the part number for that Allballs setup? I'm sick of the bloody oil leak on my old Evo.

Sorry to hijack thread. Will delete post. Has anyone noticed the "one dead etc" thread not opening properly. I get a blank page.
