    Hey guys ,

new to all this tuning stuff i normally just drop bike off to mech with orange box and get him to play around with the map etc..

i have heard about all these thundermax / dynojet  etc etc etc

are these things the same thing as the orange box i got from harley ???

is there more tuning capability with the aftermarket style software...

i have had nothing but issues with the orange box.. plugged it in a few months ago and for some reason it wiped my old map clean...  so i have had nothing but issues trying to get my bike back to its former glory ...

I've recently been getting back into the world of electronic tuners.  They're not all the same.  On Youtube there's some great videos by Revzilla on fuel tuners.   See link below.  Especially the "fuel management buyers guide".  I found them very informative.

not a bad video! It does not mention the Thundermax for some reason though and I recon its one of the better ones.

Good advice on matching the unit to your ability/desire to tweak things yourself.

A LOT to be said for a unit with AutoTune! My thundermax runs a treat and is constantly self tuning.

If you've spent the money already ( which you have !) then stick with that...Super tuner pro it is then !

And if you want to get your head around the SE super Tuner, there's some cluey blokes here who help.

Do a little research yourself, read the HELP section thoroughly and even if you have to play sections over and over again ( like I have),

eventually you'll get it. And you'll get results which please you, then encouraging you further.

MYTUNE is also an option to purchase if you have the SE Super Tuner. Cheap and easy to use, with some caveats.

    Sparra

TTS is the best there is

and the most complete system there is

You are wasting your time running the logs through MyTune

MyTune was pretty useful before TTS had the timing capability

and now it is still useful as an aid with the SE tuning system

better in some ares with timing and VE's than the SE software

That is what fatslim is talking about

Download 'TTS for Dummies' from Mr Wizard over on HDforums and read it front to back

Then you should be right to go

TTS is the best, but you have to learn how to drive it

I'd rather ride so Power vision dyno jet. Otherwise (if you're going to get someone to tune it) ask the person who's tuning it.
