6" risers (cheap enough for a good set of chrome risers), then use bars off a Fatbob (or similar). Risers will give you the height for clearance and the slight bend in the 'flat' bars will ensure they clear the tank. If the indicators are still on the bars, that may be the issue. Flatters indicators or relocate would negate that?

You might even get away with 4" risers, but you'll have to mess around with the angle of the risers, etc. As a vote of confidence, I reckon a Rocker with Fatbob bars would look sensational!

I put 14" apes on mine and it upgraded the handling from 'terrifying' to 'tractor'. I did it for the comfort and the looks but the fact that i didn't feel like it was going off the road if i hit a bump in a hwy corner was an unexpected bonus.

    Food for thought is all.

All you have to do is get a set of risers that will clear the tank and you can put any bars on them mate.
Just measure how far up from the trees you need to go to clear the tank.

Bloodog, it is easy mate. Easier still if you simply buy a new left hand grip (they sell them in singles), as it's a pain in the arse to try and get off, then glue back on new bars. Or at least that was my experience. As you're not changing the bar height by much, no need to change cables or anything, so all will go back on new bars. Risers are two nuts under top clamp. Just undo them before you take off bars, replace risers first, then bars. Someone might suggest different order, so go with what you reckon works for you.
