And walk out with a motorcycle..

I have no idea if I did well on price, it's a bit a mystery as to what's been done, I'm not huge on the colours or the white stuff, but in all it's 90% there.. change bars and air filter and just ride it. But matching numbers is a nice plus.

It was an import so we're not sure of history.

If you took her to a few bike shows , I think you would be surprised how many trophies you could end up with sitting on the shelf in your bar !!!! I am with the above poster,,, may have to do something with the air filter .... Whatever you do ,, ride her and enjoy !!!!

Cute Sporty; matching numbers is a win. I agree bars, paint, seat and grips and you have a winer. What year out of curiosity?

Its plated 12/79.. so 80 model year.
Tyres on it are old so putting black walls on it (whites are not my bag).

Small issue though as Ive just found, being its not registered, Ive been warned I may need to go get a VOSS certification along with a Vicroads inspection, seems a RWC is not enough.
Im sort of stepping back for a bit until I can get all clarifications on getting it registered, really don't want to be stuck with it not being able to be Reg'd. Supposedly there is some paperwork to go with it showing compliance etc.

    RWC done..
    Bars ordered (Pangea Streamilner rabbits)
    Aircleaner ordered (Chopper Daves 4";)

And.. sissy bar DIY kit ordered, really for $89 inc prebent basic shape, weld on bungs and brackets seems an awesome deal.

    Slow progress..
I crashed it 3 days after I bought it (long story).

Anyway, insurance gave me money, I've taken it to a fabricator guy, I've sourced new parts.. this is how it sits right now, new tank on, new bars, new seat..
Frame is being cleaned up, then off to be stripped and painted black. Gear box has been rebuilt (long story), rear guard will be chopped and shortened, sissy bar still to be welded up. Exhaust being kept, fishtails off but cocktails to go on.

So close to strip down and paint now.. front end can wait until next winter at this stage.
(And no I’m not doing the fab work, it’s all by Glenn Aitken.. I have mechanical skills of a dead squirrel)

Looking real good. If your builder rolls that rear fender back around so the front of it is inline with the bottom frame rails, I think it would finish that off a little nicer, and the rear fender should then roll back far enough to almost meet the 45 degree rule and be legal.

Nah he’ll chop it, it’s all held together with gaffer tape at the moment while we line it up, as for the 45’ thing, I think that’s changed as a majority of sports bikes aren’t even close, vic roads specify ‘must protect other roads users from dirt and mud’.. like seriously.. what does that even mean?!
