    Hi guys,

any advice would be appreciated -I wan to put some true dual pipes on my heritage softail. I'd like them to stick out just past the rear fender. Any info on the following brands in terms of quality etc.....  they all seem to be a similar price??

Vance & Hines, Python, Freedom, Bassani, Samson

The stock size...can't remember the details mate. But I think there's only two sizes...this and really fucking long. But from what I've read the Samson's and V&H require the gear linkage to be modified(bent) so it doesn't foul oh the pipe.

Thanks man..... I think they do them in 32" and 36" from what I've been reading. Nice to know yours fit up well without mods. I'll be looking out for a set now !! Best I've seen is about $1300

Had Freedom Duals on my old Heritage, and loved the look and sound. Got bloody hot on the left hand pipe around your inner thigh, though, and you had to be aware of them when backing up to a footpath or kerb.

I have freedom performance on my heritage springer. Easy to install and well made. sound good - can't really comment on performance cos they replaced some shitty old duals that were on it when I bought it. I agree with what Whinger
    /\/\ /\ said.
I also have an FX springer - had Samson upswept fishies and after a stack replaced them with freedom upswept fishies. The Samson had tack welded heat shields which burnt out over time whereas the freedom have hose clamps on the heat shields (much better). Both sets fitted up easy. on the FX - carby model - I reckon the Samson performed better but the Freedom are better designed and finished.
