That cap looks good. I might look at one to help avoid all the small scratches that I get on the tank from my gloves when I open the cap.

You've got that right.  I've got a black 2017 48 and it must have softest paint i've ever seen.  Breath on it gently and it scratches.  I had a lighter coloured Fatboy that never showed a mark.  I guess its par for the course with black paint sadly.
