I have a set of Bassani Road Rage pipes on my bike,a few years old now and the heat shields are a little worse for wear. I am thinking about getting them powder coated and was wondering if anyone has had this done and how does it hold up to the heat...The other option would be fireplace paint...Any idea's...

    Cheers...

Yep got mine powder coated on one of my bikes mine where brand new to begin with , turned out
Mint have only done about 300ks with them have done a heap of bench run time so far so good
No signs of discolouration or cracking in the powder coat

I had a 2 stroke expansion chamber ceramic coated, didn't cost very much and lasted really well, heat resistant etc.

Was just considering this exact issue with a mate who has the same issue on the same bassani exhaust. Powdercoating the heat shields would be the go but then it may not match the muffler section. We came to the conclusion that high temp spray paint was the way to go on the heat shields and muffler section to ensure consistent colour and finish

Heatshields heat proof flat black powder coated on a set of V&H Propipe 2:1 early type and they have been perfect over 18 months.

Fast forward to a set of once chrome Rush Racing mufflers done a month back same finish, looks factory and works perfectly.
Undetectable flat black compared to factory finish.
Below is the factory finish heat shields with the Rush Racing mufflers.

This is the V&H Propipe 2:1 heatshields done ages ago.
I no longer own the bike, but saw the pipes a few days ago, still the same.
