Thought I would take my Street Glide out on a spring day in the lower South East of SA. Left home bike started OK ( havent ridden for 5 weeks ). Went and got some 98 octane. Go to start the bike, nothing. Flat battery, battery has been connected to a CTek charger all this time.
Ring my local dealer where I bought the bike ( 220km away ) said no worries we will contact Harley Assist for You. Harley Assist rang got all the details from me and sorted out for Horsham Harley to collect my bike later today.
Cant thank Trevor & Ian of Horsham Harley enough for taking the hassle out of this for Me. Had some mates put the the bike in a secure place ready for pickup, and the mates even gave me a ride home as the Missus was at work.
So if you are ever in Horsham stop in and see the Guys there, great bunch of blokes
Glad you were looked after so well Odin, lucky it was not out the back of woop woop.
Seem to remember you have not had the new bike that long?
Presume a Cteck charger is a trickle type one?
Of all the things that have gone wrong with mine since buying from new, gotta say the battery has been rather outstanding. Will be 9 years old this coming Feb.
Odin, sorry to hear of your bad luck. good to hear there are good people out there working for HD dealers!!
C Tek the best so something wrong with battery, had a friend who has been working on HD's long time mention to me the other day, he always stuck with the genuine AGM as where always good, but said lately he has had so many problems with New genuine AGM but no idea why. he wass looking else where. but myself they have always served me well. thought i would mention a cheap lights type battery volt check from an auto parts is a handy tool !good luck.
Did you try using that Samsung phone to fire it up directly? .....
I hope someone gets that joke otherwise I'll sound like a tool!
