Superlow tyres

Looking at getting new tyres for my superlow soon, and just wondering if anyone has put tyres with a higher side wall on their superlows, to give it a bit more ground clearance, instead of replacing them with the same as the factory ones?

So the superlow is too low. There is a whiff of irony in there.

Perhaps you could customise it into a superlow motard motorcross hybrid?

Is it scraping in corners, you cramping, or you just don't like the riding position? I'd be more inclined to look at shocks or seats, or even bars.

It's scraping in the corners, doesn't take too much, especially with the exhaust on off-camber roundabouts.

What I thought.  I have no idea about the tyres, but I know people have changed shocks and front springs and shit.  I had a mate who messed with this shit, but he's OS somewhere.
Didn't read into the safety side of it too much (at all) but I did see this mod http://xlforum.net/vbportal/forums/showthread.php?t=1780918&page=2

If it was me (without a timemachine to buy a different bike) I would change the rear shocks and front end springs (?) if possible to something that works.

Was going to suggest you could buy larger dia rims and spokes to suit, but just googled your model and see it has cast wheels so that suggestion is another pooh on a stick. Unless there are other model sporties with larger wheels that will swap right over.

If it is only your exhaust that scrapes, perhaps another exhaust will fix it. A different exhaust stopped stopped mine scraping.

Otherwise as bonkers said, your shocks.

I done the old man conversion on the front and put a shinko 777 160/70-17 on the rear and that fixed the problem

Do you know the part numbers for the front conversion? Have you changed the rear suspension? I am looking at getting some ikon shocks for the rear and was wondering if the 13 inch instead of the 12 inch shock would be best.

I'm fairly sure the main difference between the superlow 883 and the earlier 883XL is the tyres and shocks.

A set of higher profile tyres and 1 inch longer shocks should fix your issue.
