I'm selling my touring screen that I bought for the Fatbob for the MotoGP trip to Phillip Island. It's now served its purpose, so I'd like to move it on.
It's a Long Ride Shields "Thunderbolt" - basically the largest of three universal screens they make. It's a medium tint recurve shield and dimensions are 46cm high by almost the same width. Around 6mm thick. It's got 4 height settings, or 8 if you flip the bar mounted bracket.
I'm about 180cm tall and found a setting that worked great, it was about the mid level setting so suitable for someone shorter or taller no probs.
I found it to be a real trial and error mission for awhile until I got it sorted, but once I did it was a godsend in terms of eliminating buffeting and wind noise on the long days. You need to persevere with it and eventually you'll nail it.
The LRS website would have you think this is a "quick detachable" item, in the interest of honesty & disclosure, I can assure you this screen is a bit frustrating to initially attach, and is a lot easier with a second set of hands. Once attached though, it's a solid item that performs really well.
Cost me $400 inc. shipping from the US.
It's done about 6000km. No marks, chips or scratches. Includes spare set of mounting brackets. $250 ono. Gold Coast based, will ship at buyers expense.
DM me for further details.
Cheers! -Jay
Hi Jay, any idea if it fits other models, the website calls it a universal fit or something similar?? Cheers,
Pardon the late reply mate. Here it is from the front. Bike on the left.
If you want to send me your email i can send more pics.
Hi mate
The provided brackets are for the 1-1/4" bars on the fatbob.
Basically when you order the screen they send the brackets to suit your bike, so yeah it's universal, but you'd need to get the clamps specific to your bike. You might be able to get them from the manufacturer, they were pretty easy to deal with.
Hope that makes sense.
Will do mate, give me a day or two.
It's about 25 bucks for postage Craig.
