I had a PV on my 2011 Heritage that seemed to do a great job but that bike is long gone, I have purchased a 2011 Fatboy Lo that is completely stock and am wondering on what is currently the efi tuner of choice. I plan on exhaust/airfilter changes almost immediately, also have cams, 107" pistons, barrels and heads that will go on the Fatboy sometime in the future. Is PV still the tuner that will suit my needs or are there alternatives that are as good and possibly more cost effective??

    Cheers,

    Chris.

I'd still buy another Powervision. I'm sure other people have other ideas though.

Who's gonna tune your bike? Use whatever they prefer

Depends where you live ,, some shops that use the Power Vision have a deal that lets you buy a licence , (you dont pay or get the device,, say $250 ), and then charge tuning time, (say $600).. Total cost , say $850), ride away with hopefully a tuned bike ... That licence stays with the bike if future tuning is required, (of course you will be up for tuning time) .... You can go back to the original shop for future tuning ,(why would'nt you),, or any shop that uses the Power Vision, (just have your licence details with you .... This deal suites people that may stop at a stage 1 , or possibly in the future go to stage 2, that may not be to savvy with all the tuning jargon ....

In your case ,, you seem to be adding mods in drips and drabs... May be better off buying a tuner , be it the PV , or whatever device your tuner of choice uses, (as mentioned above), especially if you like to tinker with tuning yourself .....

The Harley tuning devices, are up in the air at the moment with all the EPA shit thats happening in the US,, I dont really have a handle on whats going on there and what may happen in the future .....

Thundermax with autotune for me. Not that I do not trust the shops, but this unit does everything perfectly for my needs.
