i rode back from Sydney to Melbourne, started raining an hour out of Sydney and didn't stop until wodonga.. fun.

But a week later the red warning light was coming on and I realised the taillight wasn't working, on closer inspection it was full solid with water, however.. it's a sealed bloody unit and I can't get the water out!!

    Anyone else has this issue?!

Nah mate but my indicators get water in them when hand washing the bike. I don't use a high pressure spray or anything but it happens. Not impressed but I take the lens off, dry and move on. Bit poor for a new bike...

    I have a similar issue with a '94 Dyna.

It seems the water is getting in through the back of the light - maybe running down the cable and into the socket, along with fine grit dirt thrown up by the tyre.

At least I can drain the water by removing the lens but it's still a PITA and shouldbn't be necessary.

I did add some shrink wrap & tape to the back of the light but given that I now have to take public transport to work, I rarely ride in the rain anymore so it's not so much of an issue.
