Anyone using the Retractorsafe or a Carabina stlye lock for their helmets?

Im interested to hear pros and cons of both.

I dont want to add a permanent lock to my ride but need to keep my shit secured when im away enjoying an amber cupachino or ten

any advise welcome

In Brisbane area, I've seen a number of helmuts in pawn shops. Not saying there stolen but with the huge increase in ice addicts nowdays, I take my Helmut with me. Handy to use as a little shopping basket in supermarkets.

I leave my $130 lid hanging on my mirror and always have and always will.
I have never owned an overly expensive lid and the freedom you feel while walking around the supermarket without a motorcycle helmet hanging off your arm is very liberating!
If you live in crime city central things might be different but unless you are leaving your bike and helmet unattended overnight I wouldn't worry about it too much.

I've never seen a lock like that. Never looked 'cos I've never needed one. No one would bother pinching my ratty old lid.
The missus recently got a $600+ fullface and doesn't like leaving it on the bike for good reason.

I bought this at Bunnings so far so good

Long shank padlock, then can lock helmet through the rings to bars or rack. But I have a small chain ( inside an old bike inner tube) so not to scratch. Then can lock to anywhere.
