I have avoided using forums but require help from others in regard to handling characteristics of my road glide special which I purchased two months ago after owning 2003 flhrci for ten years. I would like to find out the opinions of other riders about the weight the chassis mounted fairing can sometimes leave you with some apprehension at low speed, especially when attempting starting stopping and tight turning manoeuvres. Any input muchly appreciated, as long as I can work out how this site operates. Thank you.

Hi bill I've got a road glide custom but haven't really noticed the weight of the frame mounted fairing impacting on low speed manoeuvrability. It's a heavy bike all over but I don't feel the fairing weight specifically and once it's moving I don't feel it being a heavy bike period.

    Welcome to the forum.

The more you use it, the more understanding you'll have of the operation.

    Enjoy it and the banter.

I have found that the bars on the rushmore road glides models are back further and a bit higher. My first feet up u turn in the dealers carpark almost brought me undone as the bars can come right roundover the tank with the grips inline with the dash panel. once you get used to that its ok.
