Seat will need some work so after recommendation for a place to use that can turn it around quickly (I'm in Canberra) and have experience with making motorcycle seats more comfortable. In case I need to do this local to me and with somebody not so experienced with what I need, any advice on what I should be asking for or avoiding?

For a quick solution can't you get one of those gel seat things people talk about on here sometimes?

Buy beg borrow or steal and airhawk to try FB. Yu'll be amazed at the comfort and you only need to fit it for the longer rides. It'll save you heaps in the long run. Get the R. It has cutouts for the fella bits.

I have a Mustang solo seat and find it quite comfortable, but I do move around on it to alter the seating position slightly.

What is it that creates your problem?

Is it the actual seat or a combination the seating positing with the bars etc?

Your local upholsterer might be able to help you out. If they are worth their salt they will know what is the right foam to use. Took a Honda 750/four seat to a local (auto) upholsterer here in Hobart and was gobsmacked with the quality of job he did on it.

Mate: try MJM Custom motorcycle seats up the road from you in Goulburn. I have some mates that swear by them.

Too bad your Mustang seat isn't 100% to your liking. On my recent trip, mine gave me a sore behind for the first couple of hours then never a problem again.

If all else fails, find a bit of sheepskin and attach it to your seat!

Thanks all for ideas and input. One kind member even offered to lend me his seat which was generous and shows what a good forum this can be.
I had an airhawk pad but didn't see the benefits that others have (I did play around with the air volume too etc and used min air volume as recommended).
I've ended up following JFE's advice as Goulburn is only up the road form me and MJM Custom Seats gets a good rap on other motorcycle discussion forums that I found via google. When I dropped my seat there during the week there was another Road Glide there getting a seat done and it was a bloke that I know so small world. MJM has lots of work on there which is always a good sign. I'm getting the foam changed over and a slight rework of the shape of the lip at the back. This way I keep the Mustang seat and backrest that I payed a small fortune for and will hopefully enjoy the seat more for longer.

It will be good to hear from you after the seat has been done. Im looking at solutions for my seat, 2013 Deluxe. I have tailbone and lower back pain after 45mins of riding.

Anybody know of good upholsters in Adelaide?
