Looking at getting one of these new fangled modulars for long touring days,  Always used open face on Harley.  Full face on supersport.. always used SHOEI mainly. (but not brand loyal) Before you suggest to use search funtion, already did that, nothing really current as of 2014.

Any suggestions recommendations?   FIT, SIZING, COMFORT, NOISE and other issues...?

I like the look of the Shark Evoline 3, chin bar to the rear, certified as full face and open face, thats gotta be a bonus right?

Never tried one, but I know people who rave about the 3s - way lighter than the previous model and the best of both worlds when going on long rides..

The best one is the one that fits! Go into MCAS (but not the crap Auburn store) and try a heap on.

I use a Bell Revolver Evo in matte black with a tinted lens and it's bloody brilliant. It's a good quality, under $300 and I don't have anything bad to say about it. I'd recommend checking them out

I have a shark evoline 3, I feel it restricts your side view with chin bar down. I only use it with chin bar back which is an ugly looking helmet.

I have the evoline 3 its quite heavy and as skirtster said it does feel restricted in vision, also the main visor rattles at any speed over 20k on an ultra, if you know someone with one that they might let you try I wiould advise before sheeling out, I very rarly use mine now

I've been using a Shark Evoline series 2 for three or four years now on a Street Glide with varying screens without complaint. It is the only one I use.

Around town, including 80k zones, metro and country I'll have the visor up without issues.

I use the chin bar on on very cold days or when it's raining.

For me it is a great helmet and I wlll get a series 3 when I need to get a new helmet.

Have a look at Rjays Navona. I love this helmet; open face when your putting around and shield down when your out in the open. No issues with fogging up or having to twist your neck off to see stuff beside you properly and a good price also. Has a half tinted screen that flips down if you really need it ( i have only used it once riding straight into the sunset ) and quick release strap ( you can put it on or off with gloves on ). If you ride to work in daylight and come home at night you dont need two sets of glasses like an open face and it doesnt try to pull your head when your slightly above the speed limit ( not that we do that ). Only issue i had with mine when i got a screen on my dyna the buffering seemed to push the shield up not from the bottom but more from the top but i just tightened the screws on the screen and havent had any problems since. well worth a look. Hope this helps Cheers Potluk

Excellent write up, cheers for that.

The 86 dB noise rating has me completely stumped though, if that is the noise level you experience in a normal car then I don't understand why my Husqvarna chainsaw has a 76 dB rating. It seems 50 times louder than any car I have been in.

My typo, but that is still 6db louder than a small chainsaw. Something is awry there. Not saying you got it wrong, but someone must have.
