Also when the problem is happening I guess you have tried to start it with the clutch pulled in?

I had the bike serviced a couple of months ago I don't think he changed the tranny oil. I have tried to start the bike with the clutch in. If that worked I would be fine with it but it doesn't.

okay...so did it start after the service? I read somewhere about an oil change triggering the neutral switch to act up (no idea why though, could be the oil level difference or something) I see for the neutral switch its behind the front pulley a bit, but the connector is visible. Why not remove the cover over the pulley and measure the switch when the bike is cold to see what the normal readings are. Then go for a blat until the problem happens and measure the switch again. In theory if its buggered you should notice a difference in the readings.

    Found the problem....

Last night I rode the bike and when I got home I disconnected the Neutral switch and then grounded the wire leading back to the harness and the neutral light came back on and the bike started... I have now bypassed the Neutral switch as a temporary solution until my mechanic can get the part and swap it out. "Finally I have my bike working again".

"I would like to say thank you to all of you that offered suggestions it was very helpful, I am now back riding again thanks to you guys".
