    G'day All,

My bikes K's are starting to get up there so I am looking at replacing the cam chain tensioner plates. Is is just a matter of buying the plates and replacing them or do I need seals, bearings etc?

    Cheers in advance,

    Ryno

Ryno you can purchase just the shoes from Ebay in the state, along with the gaskets. I got the bearings from Amazon along with the tool for removal and installation, I won't know about the chains till I take of the cover but they around 50 to 70 dollars for OEM. HD don't sell the cam tensioner shoes separately, you have to buy the whole assembly. Depending on what pushrods you have you will also need the rocker cover gasket kit and push rod O'rings. Rocker cover gasket Kit from Amazon and the O'rings OEM from HD. Cheaper. You could go Adjustable and negate the need to take out your pushrods and rocker covers etc.

After all of this I had a look at M&M and they sell the Rocker cover kit complete for around $50 US

I'm happy to pay a small premium for exchange rates plus good service, but most times ive been face to face the wrong part was ordered, the advice was wrong or the price difference is astronomical. It is the same with my snowboarding gear, I get it all outta the state's due to shops here charging almost double.

im a Harley workshop over here in Sydney & its not very good when somebody buys da parts from oversea's then expect ya to fit it up for them ,  people that just use ya for info whats da best parts  & combo's  for performance & then buy it on da net & expect ya too fit it up cheap go too da back of da wait list , if it wasn't for ya giving them da right info in da 1st place they would be buying da wrong parts & wasting there bucks as iv'e seen it heaps of time's because they buy cheap shit that ya can not use, but if ya buying & fitting it ya self  good on ya     iam only on here to help people  not like some ?     cheers Bob

Yeah I can understand, everyone needs to make a buck. It's when it is way inflated that it turns me off.
