Went to change the bars on my 2016 XL1200c. Want to put the XL1200cb bars on and bring the bar closer to me 2" up and 4" back.

I'm told to do this I have to change the throttle cables, clutch cable and top brake line so they reach. Total cost over $650.00.

Now I might be old but what happened to the days when you could do this for what they are charging for one cable these days?

Anybody out there know where I moght be able to do this for a reasonable price?

I'm on the central coast NSW.

    Thanks in advance

    Pedro

    Hi Mate

Just changed my forty eight handlebars on the weekend . standard to chizeled 10inch plus riser 1 inch

Dont listen to harley dealers , i assume you spoke to them , they are full of shit. and overpriced, best thing to do is buy off ebay and save your money!!!

I was told i needed throttle and idle cables , i used the stock ones saved alot , brought clutch cable from america , motion pro black out , delivered $53

you will need to extend the wiring , i doesnt cost much for heat shrink and wires prob $30.

you might need to buy a new brake line , I got a braided australian approved one delivered for $46 , then had to buy banjo fittings $30 each ( $60 in total)

    Total cost around $200.

    done it myself saved heaps

    Hi AlHD48,

Thanks for the info, thought that HD was a bit over the top.

Can you please post a web address for the cable for me.

    Cheers Pedro
