Any ironheads out there with a clue on this one. Have only just got my 79 sportster running and rideable (though not yet registered) I've adjusted the clutch and seems to work fine but on road test after about 5 or 10 minutes I intermittently can't disengage the clutch. Like the lever is rock solid. Can't pull it in and I have to shuffle through gears sans clutch. I've slipped it into neutral and pulled over and left the engine running and after a while ( no particular time) have been able to pull the clutch lever in again. After limping home with intermittent clutch I pulled the cover off and inspected and cleaned the ball and ramp setup without really finding anything wrong and put it all back together again for another road test. SAme thing happened. I got about 3km down the road before it played up!? Weird.
