Painting coils?

I have a set of dyna coils I plan to mount off my engine mount.. But they are an ugly green colour. Has anyone painted their coils? Does it affect heat dissipation? Just don't wanna change the whole colour scheme of my build because of green coils..

    Cheers

If they are Dyna coils with metal mounting core, it will have
    Almost zero effect.
They are encapsulated in thick resin, a few microns of paint can't hurt.

AND...that green on the Dyna coils is bloody awesome! I have a set of single fire ones and they look good!

So my decision is that I'll try some high temp engine enamel or the likes. It's designed for hi heat and if trapped hear in, I'm sure it wouldn't be used for motorcycle engines..
Thanks heaps for all the advice. I'm literally building this bike while on centrelink as I try find work. So mark my words, I'm 27 and I WILL get a job working with bike.
But seriously, I can't thank you guys enough for the support... I know a guy who drift cars, and on their forums, there's no genuinity, everyone's just trying to get the best part/car, putting down people with shit cars. But the Harley Davidson community is a whole different world. There's no way I would have built the bike im building without the support and generosity I've received from people, not just all over Aus, but internationally as well. There's a huge connection you get from owning your own bike.. Building a bike from bare up on the other had.. Well you've pretty much just given birth. So thanks guys, not only you, but people who will never read it. Harley davisons saved my life.

Yep, a bit of paint on coils will have very little effect at all. I have mine covered with a chrome cover, so that'd hold in a lot more heat than a bit of paint. You are right about the HD community, there's not a lot of shit compared to other things. A broken down HD will always have another HD rider stop to assist while sports bikes wiz past. That's been my experience anyway. Good luck with the build and the job hunting mate, there's a job out there somewhere for you, you've just got to want it.
