Rear brake light switch

Did a search but didnt really find the answer.  I notice on a recent ride that the rear brake light doesnt come on unless I push really hard on the brake pedal.  I see its a pressuer activated switch which I thought would be either working or not working at all.  Just wondering if its stuffed or not.  Anyone else had this issue?  Im happy to replace it as it apopears theres no adjustment on it.  Further to that it appears to be a generic pressure switch which I imagine would be available an autobarn etc.  rather than giving the stealers money for jam ??  I notice also that in the manual it says nothing about bleeding the brakes after replacement so I imagine the switch is not actually in the brake line directly so to speak ?

without knowing what model , the switch is usually in the line so will need to bleed system if changing switch , might be worth checking with dealer for price before going aftermarket , i was chasing an oil pressure switch a while back , dealer cheaper that auto shops

Thanks for the replies. I notice the pads are down a bit and wondering if maybe thats the cause of the brake light issue. I would have thought the switch either works or doesnt?? Wondering also what the difference is between sintered and organic pads and which are the best??
