G'Day everyone, Stevro from Perth here.

Been Lurking about here for a while, day dreaming.

OK so just purchased a brand new 2017 Breakout from Perth HD in Cannington, gonna be a couple of weeks till delivery.

Never bought a new bike before so this is a new experience for me, this is also going to be my first HD. Im very excited !!

My former bike is a 96 Vulcan 1500. the old girl went ok but lets face it, she was no Harley.

Looking forward to riding with some of yas in the near future, and a few cold bevies when the warm weather finally arrives.

Any tips for a new Harley rider would be appreciated ?

    Cheers,

    Stevro

Welcome Stevro, I also bought myself my first brand new bike last year so my advice is: Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy, what I didn't know was that a bike also has that brand new smell to it just like a car. So again enjoy your new ride you will love it. Oh and you will get sore cheeks because you won't be able to stop smiling. Have FUN

    Hey Bloodog,

    Stock as a rock, $26,990

I had inquired about a Demo 2016 model i seen on Bikesales, but this had sold just before my inquiry, The sales rep said they had a new 2016 they could do for the demo price, so I said sure why not, the next day I went into the shop, but this one had also been sold by another rep, so they offered me a spankin new 2017 one instead for the demo price.

I dont know if it was pure arse or a sales tactic but either way im very happy and the peeps at Perth HD have been very accomodating. I can't complain at all :)

    Welcome Stevro.
As for advice, buy a mask. We can't have Harley riders scooting about looking happy with a big shit eatin' grin (as we do).
You need a mask to keep up the angry Harley rider appearance. Preferably a mask that scares old ladies and school children.
    Roo ;-)

PS: enjoy the ride when she arrives, show pics.

Big thanks to everyone for the warm welcome,

Great advise Roo, ill have to keep up this tradition of scaring kids :) a Mask is on the list for sure.

Bloodog i'm sure ill be scrapping the pegs in the twisties if i manage to coax the big girl over enough.

And thanks for the clarification Paulybronco, Ill give it my best but i'm sure you are right lol
