I have heard that Autosol might be too abrasive to use to clean new chrome, any views on this? Perhaps Autoglym might be less abrasive?  What do you use?

i use that formula one cleaner in a can   spray a bit on a cloth, wipe it over then polish off and comes up great. got a deatailer that comes out every second month and his stuff is pretty good but took all the stickers off my gixxer and his product could not remove all the residue but i used my own and it bought it straight off. does not leave a film but next time you clean your bike it seems a lot easier.

Eucalyptus Oil for removing glue and boot rubber. Apply and let it soak in for a while and rub off with a soft cloth. Got rid of the reflector glue AND the missus' boot rubber from the pipes. Not a polish though.

Use Burnishing steel wool, it will take of anything but it isn't a polish it just gets rid of the crap.

I've been using Autosol for years but only for "spring" cleaning. If you live near the coast the salt air leaves little pin-prick sized dots on your chromework over a period of cool days and nights. The regular chrome "shiners" don't get rid of these. The Autosol works superbly without the need to rub hard and the result is stunning. I would suggest NOT rubbing really hard on thin chrome fittings like axle nut covers where the chrome is not so thick.
