Have just been to the hog shop asking about a new scoota as I will be living remote a long way from the nearest dealer 
I said " we will work out the shipping " they replyed yes but you must be here in person to buy a bike ........ you mob heard of this before 
They recon if I am not there for hand over no deal 
 

I think the dealer requires identity documents to register a vehicle or do a transfer, identity documents can't be verified except in person. But if you're buying unregistered it shouldn't matter.

They're probably thinking of a variation on the oil rig / mining site scam.

Bother in law was able to buy his bike remote from a dealer WA and had it shipped to SA no probs.

I talked it out with them saying if I got the cash under your noise you will work it out ...but no must be there to be explaind the bike and hand over.I also told them i bought a brand new hog 12 mounths ago im still a hog member, they shook there heads, if not in person no deal 

don't wont to bash the hog shop in SA..... I was looking at a breakout new or used and will be moving back to alice springs. When money and move settles down will pull the trigger I was very surprised by the answer they gave

I'm looking closely at the pro street breakout on bike sales...... used very low ks 37k, brand new 39k from some Dealers { stage v extra 5k }
As I'm in the center of oz every state is open for transporting ..... 
 Alice springs may have a HD agent but I know the showroom will be full of Honda dirt bikes with a hand full of assorted used road bikes 
To try and capitalise on the flood of bikes { low prices } on the market now and in the mounths coming 
If alice is a agent what can they do for me dose this mean they can do the same as other hog shops?

 
Yer I no just ask them, I am trying to get some smarts on the market $$$$$ saved = better bike and shiny bits
