Howdy, thought I would post some pics of my Harley 48 tank transition from Sedona Organe to plain black with OEM 'bar and shield' badges. I got the black tank off gumtree, rode with it for a while and liked the black. I then got it painted and the badges stuck on. Pretty happy with it. Just picked up some black wrinkle rocker covers and a black headlight grille which I will wack on this week.

That looks awesome! Can I ask how much it cost to paint a tank?

I did a deal with a guy. I gave him my black HD tank and he said he had another one which he would paint for $150. The tank cost me $250 (near new condition) so all up $350. I got a quote from 2 reputable bike painters in Perth and both were around the $500 mark. As I mentioned, the paint is a bit thin so easily scratches. I would pay the $500. Remember, there is a bit of work sanding out those decals and heaps of priming.

Hmmm didn't think about the prep work too much. im waiting on a mates rates quote. Hoping to get a tank and rear fender done for under $500.
