    Hey yal.

Here is my FXDWG. Got it secondhand and it came with THIS seat.

This seat is torture for me- I think its for a shorter rider. I found I wanted to sit where the circle is.

Unfortunately I had to leave my bike at home, while I travelled abroad for an extended work trip. I didn't get much time to check things out and plan to buy something online and have it waiting for me when I return.

Firstly, is this seat a two piece? If possible I would like to keep the rear pillion seat for passengers

Next, I am 6' tall roughly and want a comfortable seat. From what I have read online a Mustang Vintage Solo is a good choice. Open to suggestions and any good place to buy online.

    Thanks,

Had the same problem with my FXST when I bought it. Seemed like the seat was pushing me forward/ could not sit far enough back.  I found a good one on Le Pera's website that looked better than the original one and was more comfortable. In retrospect if I had the choice again I would go for the same style but probably lash out the extra $$ and get the "biker gel" as they call it instead of the regular upholstery. That is because the style of seat I chose was a quite thin arsed seat. You probably don't need to worry about the gel if you are going for a more fat arsed/comfy/lounge type seat.

At the time the Le Pera website was great. It showed each variation of seat pictured on the model of bike you owned so you could get a reasonable idea of if it was going to fix your particular issue.

That looks to be a super reduced reach seat.

Give the Mustang Wide Tripper a go. I'm on my third and am super happy. Also has a matching Pillion seat.

Mustang for me , hands down better than Harley Bad Lander and just as good if not better than the cushy Softail seats , firmer but more support for me anyhow .

Depending where you are overseas I would have a look at M & M Cycles out of Ohio ... but check the shipping cost ... with the Aussie Dollar being so bad with the Yank Dollar
at the moment you are probably better off going with someone local .

I will be sure to check out those seats and websites. From what I have learned so far, the seats listed on the official HD website aren't as good as Mustangs and Le Peras ( to name a few)

Thanks for the replies, much appreciated.

Find a good upholsterer (or however it's spelt).

I purchased 3 seats on others recommendations and just cost me money. Ended up taking my Mustang, HD Sundowner, & FXDF stock seat  to a "Very Good" upholsterer who would only work on them if I stayed there while he made adjustments to the shape & added different density foam & I went for test ride after test ride until we were both happy. 7 hours & $550 was the best investment I have made in motorcycle seating.

Mustang wide studded with same for pillion. 2 piece. Super easy to install and just as quick and easy to change from 2 up to rider only. Bought a mustang fender bib when riding solo. Mustang have a great website and any queries sent via email answered in 24 hours. Great company, Great product. Can ride for hours now without needing a break. From memory delivered in about 2 weeks or so after placing order. They really are that good.

i am leaning towards the Mustang Solo
I see EASYR has some competitive prices Vs Ordering from USA.
Always prefer to buy local if I can

    Cheers for replies!
