Precipitation under speedo lense (am I the only one)

Anyone else had this kinda precipitation problem? As soon as I have sun hit my speedo (there hasn't been much in Melb lately) the inside of mainly the bottom of the speedo lense fogs up right through to little droplets of water for quite a while then the heat seems to clear it out. Called the dealer and they said that it's an enclosed unit that water shouldn't be able to get into. Of course they suggested that I get a new or upgraded one. I'm not so sure if it's an enclosed unit as I haven't had a good look at it or my WS manual yet. It's been like this for quite a while and really shits me off !!!! I'm sure there is an o ring that's letting in the moisture. It is an outdoor bike that lives under a cover, however this was noticed after I'd been forced to do 295kms through 2 100yr storms!! So most of the water would have been hitting the back of speedo (front of bike) at 110 Kmh.

The picture doesn't show the fogged up part or droplets very well except where you should see the yellow light clearly it's visible there.

Every bloody bike so far. Think its more condensation than water getting in.

There's got to be a fault in the design that can be remedied. Like an o ring/seal that can be beefed up so water can't get in there in the first place. Anyone taken one apart?

I can see this is really gett'n at ya.

The first thing i would try would be to cover the speedo glass

with some windscreen tint film or the like.

Idea being to stabilize the glass temp.  (may/may not help)

I've checked my workshop manual and as I thought it isn't a sealed unit but comes apart. I'm just going to have to CSI my way through where the water is getting in.
