    Hi All

I am in the process of doing a few mods , Black out forks, handlebars, Chin Fairing etc.

I was wondering if anyone out there has painted their spokes on their sporty black ? or if there are any other options that are cost effective ? dont really want to buy new wheels as i like the stock ones ( bike is a sporty 48)

has anyone brought black spokes and had them laced ? is it expensive ?

You could always buy an artline waterproof texta and just colour them in for a tight arse fix. If you dont like how it looks, metho will undo it.

I like the look of shiny spokes with blacked out rims and hubs but taste is one of those things that is unaccountable.

Lacing up your own wheels is not that hard if you have patience. If you don't have patience forget it. On the bright side spokes are not generally that expensive. Can't say I've seen black ones but I have never looked for them. Buchannans in the US are the spoke folk. Or there are people here like Ash's spokes who can lace up wheels but be prepared to pay. Much better if you can do it yourself once you have the spokes. You kind of get a kick out of it too.

Sound like a good idea of trying the spokes myself.

Just trying to save money where i can as im on a single income with a newborn .

I hear lacing is expensive and turing them

No they slip over the the excisting spokes , you will need to trim them to size , easy to do ,, they give u a few spares as well , i have had them on for 6 months no issues , cheap mod , i was going to re-lace mine but these were cheap and easy to do

Just pull the Bearings out and get the whole wheel Powder Coated in one piece

Lol my exhaust was too quiet so I placed a bit of cardboard between the spokes  and the chain guard as well  ......awesome sound now brrrrrrrrr

Stupid as it sounds, the Artline texta is the tightarse way out so far. No probs with condensation. One texta costs a few bucks from your local newsagent. Just make sure the men in white coats don't see you colouring in your spokes.

Black drinking straws with a slot cut down the length of them should also do the trick. You can get nice thin ones that might actually look okay. (DO NOT get the dayglow pink ones!)

Like these ones, and at $20 what have you got to loose:  http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/5000-x-Black-Straight-Straws-Disposable-Drinking-Straw-Plastic-Party-Favors-New-/182217550877?hash=item2a6d032c1d:g:I4IAAOSwIgNXlEVU
