Gday fellas,

I've  got a 1982 Fxr that i want to get the top end freshened up on.

Ive been reading about putting Evo blocks, lifter, pushrods and rockers

In the shovel apparently its not a bad upgrade. Does anyone have any experience with this??

I just did mine. First time the motor has been apart so new pistons, rings, hydraulic lifters and got the valves and valve guides done as well. Slipped a little AB grind cam in, rejetted the e shorty and she hums. Motor sounds like a sewing machine.

As far as I understood, it was a direct bolt in? I thought the frames where all the same.

I didnt actually do it though so would be keen to know whats involved. I've been eyeing off another Shovel FXR w/ unknown quality engine.

From all accounts, its in very good hands at the moment.
