Plenty of fuel through there, mate. Wouldn't hurt to carry a two litre bottle though. I came through there in April and it was full-on roadworks and fucking mud for miles and miles. Every time our group goes through it seems to get worse so we've decided NO BLOODY MORE!

longest run between fuel is apollo bay to port campbell ,not sure of fuel times at port.servo here in timboon is open 8.00am to 6.00pm every day[17 kms from port]then 30 km to cobden ,or about 90 kms from port to colac[24 hr fuel] what ever you do ,watch out for all the other users on or near the GOR most are internatinal drivers and some DO drive on the wrong side at times.apart from that enjoy...and its 80 km limit for most of the GOR.cheers

I always plan trips using Google maps, setting stops per km. I'm also have this "ploblem" with my 48
It is important you know how much your bike consumes per km approximately. so you can do better planning
I have done 130km with a tank, however this consumption varies widely.
In my case I have to carry two liters in the backpack is too heavy and uncomfortable, The bottles available in most are limited to 1 liter.
So it is best to stop and fill the tank even for just a few liters.
let me know when you go may be I go to

Gotta test what the bike can really achieve in a tank as the gauge isn't always accurate. Test this when refilling to see how much was really left in your tank, divide by km etc

Good idea re the petrol station stops on google maps , looks like they took away lorne BP , which is crap .

My bike is tuned to run on BP 98 petrol , might make it a bit difficult for me to travel down that way ,

just need the melbourne weather to pick up

Bit confused about your bike being 'tuned' to run on BP 98.

Did your tuner tell you that as it sounds like total bollocks.

Hi tussuck , yes thats what brian at eastern big twin told me , that my bike is tuned now to use BP98 petrol, that was in the tank when it was dyno tuned, can use caltex 98 and mobile 98 , shell has a wierd blend in their vpower petrol.

if you are using a canned tune apparenty dones matter so much cause the tune is junk anyway.

i dont have a clue , i just go by what he says but the bike rides like a dream and much better than before ( with a junk map)

Your bike will run fine on regular unleaded if that's all a servo has. It would be silly to not go on the trip cause you think you won't get the right fuel. Just don't fill it with diesel as it's a safe bet your mechanic did not tune it for that.

The "Great Ocean Road" is an iconic road for a bike ride and should be done at least once before you cark it. Just do not do it on a public holiday, school holiday, weekend or any other time when there is millions of cunts in cars on the road at the same time. Seriously the road gets that busy that it will ruin your fun. Look out too for Chinese tourists stopping in the middle of the road to take pictures.

    Petrol everywhere through there.
Not sure why anyone would carry fuel...
The whole ride is less then 250 ks, what
you gonna do for the rest of the day after morning tea?

Pulled an off-road caravan thru there a couple of years ago. Only a short run a mind plenty of fuel stops. Driving thru there I dreamed of one day doing the run on a bike and in a convertible. Enjoy!!!
